Ceramics and MultiMedia Creative Arts Experiences
My creative life began in the late 1950’s, under the shade of our giant peach tree. There, I found myself in the mud, next to an alley in the suburbs of Southern California where Orange Groves once thrived.
I am blessed to have had deeply beloved, supportive parents that nurtured my difference in learning, my desire to become adept at using tools, nurture animals, while developing a lifelong path submerged close to the gifts of the earth. Along with the earth's graceful inspired imagery: shapes, surfaces and formations, which I glean as a guide for all that I express, for all that I am. Along with being awed by the offerings of the earth's remedies and the healing properties of the plant world.
I grew up learning about roses, growing food, creating order and beauty, while tending my environment. Focusing on the value of finding a place for everything and weaving webs of community support and cultural engagement.
I studied oil painting as an adolescent, multimedia arts as a young adult, and began working with youth around this time, all along the while, being held by parents who appreciated cultural arts and supported my directions as an artist and instigator of community collaborations. Instilling all the while within me, my love of farming, arts integration, and parenthood, woven deeply into the fabric of my being and expressions.
